The Wave Twittesphere was set ablaze by the rumors of former 5 star and ESPN #1 recruit in the country, Malachi Nelson showing interest and potentially visiting Tulane.
Since Pete Nakos post on December 19, there has been very little chatter regarding Malachi and Tulane. Sources had told me that he initially been interested in a visit to Tulane but has since cooled. It’s too bad because that tweet set off the most offseason excitement I’ve seen in my decade following the team.
We were teased with something big coming.
The trail went cold on Nelson but maybe it was a smoke screen all along. What if there was another highly touted 5 star recruit on a PAC-12 blue blood sitting behind a heisman candidate who had just entered the portal? Ladies and gentleman, I’m talking about Ty Thompson.
Thompson’s recruiting visits have been kept reasonably quiet in the Twitter world.
NC State found their Qb in Coastal Carolina’s Grayson McCall. Ty was also rumored to have looked at UCF who recently landed KJ Jefferson.
Having left his first few visits without a commit, it would be interesting to see who gets the last visit. I have been told that Ty Thompson is currently on Tulanes campus for an official.
